Originated in an emerging of \u201cemotional turn\u201d within geography in the mid-late 1970s, emotional geographies were considered as an interdisciplinary platform for exploring the spatiality and sociality of emotion, feeling and affect. Meanwhile, the birth of literary geography in China evoked strong reactions and close attentions in academic circles since the mid-late 1980s. Therefore, the study on literary geography is presenting a splendid sight in China. The growing Western Emotional Geographies and the most popular Chinese Literary Geography seem unrelated but mutually beneficial. Therefore, when linking them, immediately emotional geographies in literature has been generated which is made up of three keywords that are literature, geography and emotion. Emotional geographies in literature should concentrate on making a profound study on the theory of man-land relationship. Furthermore, on the one hand it tries to give emotional experience of human being back to geography, and on the other hand immerges the experience of literary to the issues of emotional geographies. In recent years, inspired by the emotional geographies in literature, domestic and overseas scholars have taken up a large-scale research on the visual appearance of the emotion of literature by borrowing the GIS techniques as if by prior agreement. These phenomena demonstrate the possibility, practical path and broad prospects for a cross-disciplinary study of humanities and social
